"The bathroom facilities are dirty. The rooms were mosquito infected and then finally in the morning the flies took over. Generally dirty. Supper was not bad but breakfast was terrible. The bacon was off. Will not recommend to anybody!"

"It was our first experience of backpackers accommodation. We prepared ourselves for the worst but had all we needed at Sugarloaf. We stayed 5 nights and as a family we rather needed an on suite as it was a bit of a bother to walk to the toilets in the middle of the night in the rain. It is kept clean, most of the staff were friendly and helpful and the meals catered were really nice and tasty. Overall it was different but enjoyable."
"Good atmosphere"

"There is a good atmosphere in this lodge. it is kind of basic but we enjoyed it very much. The surfing tour was a bit overpriced and the gear was not good. But because of the two nice owners we had a good time there."

"What an experience! It was my first time ever staying at a backpackers, and it was great. Great people, friendly staff and an awesome place. The food was out of this world; best ever calamari and Xhosa bread, super yummy. I will definitely visit again."

"Spent four nights at Sugarloaf chillaxing and meeting interesting people. More than enough stuff to do. The food was great. Those freshly backed Transkei breads!"
