".... so we wanted a weekend away with bush, pet friendly and a little walk to see birds and maybe a buck or 2 which at a glance this seemed to tick all the boxes ... what we got was the hostess which was super surprised I had my little dog with (which I had confirmed prior would be fine and the reason for choosing the establishment ) no bush walks allowed actually not really allowed to leave our little area at all without being told where to go ... no wild life except some farm anilmals and we were pretty much on the main road ! Felt like I was staying in someones backyard for the weekend... as for the accommodation well felt like I was staying in someones family weekend house ... it was dark gloomy dusty and not all that comfortable ... kids were bored ! Not much to do at all ... not sure who I would recommend this to ? Tried to make the most of it but think a braai in my own backyard would have been better and cheaper !!! And a lot less stressful and noisy ... sorry but very dissapointed :("

"A horrible place to holiday in"

"The house was not accommodating 8 people, as promised, from cutlery and cockery, blankets to towels. And to think i paid for 8 people. There were cobwebs everywhere, the shower used by 8 people couldn't drain water so we practically bathed in our own bath water, Kim was on leave, so we really could only speak to her once. Our towels were not changed, and so we're our sheets, things i specifically enquired about and was assured will be done. There are things in the ceiling I presume mice, they are disturbing at night when you are sleeping. I am giving it one star because there is no zero star. It was a horrible experience. Kim gave us an extra free day to make up for the booking mess but it really did not cover the misleading information and the dirtiness of the place."

"We had a lovely time at Klein Borland. The cottage was spacious and had everything that we needed. The garden was just as spacious and our kids and puppy were able to play. Besides the bugs, the place was clean and well looked after."

"We were showed into the Sekelbos accommodation at Klein Boland, and were met by a stale smell of dust that was almost unbearable until we had opened all doors and windows. It took quite some time for fresh air to flow through. We received no orientation and had to trouble the owner to find a light switch for the large veranda when night fell. This switch was located within the next door house. It would be unwise for two different parties to stay on this property since the two houses share the same veranda... I would certainly not have enjoyed another group sharing with us so closely. The house is well appointed, especially the kitchen however; the Bosch stove...not a popular brand... had no instructions. This made it impossible to operate the oven as its digital settings are very much different from the ones we know. The LG fridge/freezer is spacious with a water cooling and ice making system that was neither set up for guests, nor were there any instructions of how to operate. It had not been cleaned since the last use and one of the the shelves were lying on top of the fridge gathering dust. Most of the utensil cupboards are locked and some unmatched crockery, cutlery and glasses are stacked onto on of the cupboard worktops. Upon taking a shower...that was really a nice space and shower head, I was afraid that it would overflow as the drainage was obviously not free flowing. My partner and I found the double bed in our room uncomfortable the first night and decided to move the extra single bed in the room closer. It was sad to find that this bed was resting on bricks...not even mentioning the layer of dust that had gathered under this bed. This accommodation is not serviced and, we discovered a note with instructions to use the provided equipment to clean out. The only issue is that not all equipment was available. We had to clean the braai from our previous evening's use with no tools and/or obvious bin to discard of the ashes. This could be great for a large family if only is was cleaner and cared for."
