Augrabies Backpackers is the legendary base of a whole generation of river and desert adventure people. We can arrange guided half-day river rafting trips on the Lower Orange River and offer hot air-balloon rides over the Kalahari Desert. Lounge in the shade, take a dip in the rustic "splash pool" and enjoy the seasonal organic fruit. One thing is certain, one night is never enough. Accommodation is offered in 4 rooms, sleeping up to 11 guests. Laundry services are also available for guests' convenience. We are situated just 10 km from the Augrabies Falls National Park, making it an excellent base from which to explore the area. Activities include various day hikes and walks as well as a portion directly alongside the middle gorge.

"Thanx Coco and family for a weekend getaway stay filled with love, laughter and awesome memories. Your humility and customer service was top class .The cherry on top was the horse riding experience, it was my first time and was breath-taking."

"Rooms are amongst the nicest I have ever had in a backpackers, even up to hotel standard. Environment is rustic, and Malcolm and Ursula went out of their way to help us around. Would definitely recommend."

"Place does not look like the pictures at all! The bathrooms were freshly renovated but the rooms itself are still under construction. No wall plaster, no floors, no proper sealing (yet), the bedside table lamps dont even have shades. Curtains broken. Dead moths and spiders on the walls.Cupboard in our room was full with stuff. The matrasses are old and all you feel is the frame of the bed, bedlinen have holes and everything just feels damp. The kitchen is well equipped but was dirty (e.g. spiderwebs in scoop). We left earlier as planned and sent feedback to the owner with request to refund our money. No response. Feels like he just wanted to make some easy money no matter what. Would have been a different story if we had been aware of the refurbishment and would have been charged less. Very disappointing! The only good thing about this place is the manager Malcolm and the cats and dogs."

"My girlfriend and i had a two night stay here and it was a very nice experience, Malcom who runs the place is an interesting dude to chat to and has a nice way of making you feel comfortable on the middle of nowhere. The rooms available are just what you need after a long hot day of driving or visiting the falls. Perfect little patch of green in the middle of nowhere."

"Thanks to Malcolm for greeting us on our arrival and making us welcome. We were able to cook a great Braai outdoors. The gardens are nice and peaceful."
